  • So glad we're finally getting a taste of fall weather here.
Owen's sleeping. Brian is hunting. I should be doing something productive, but instead, here I sit with a can of diet Barq's, reading blogs. Life is good!

As much as I hate to have to say goodbye to a favorite tv character (I get way too emotionally invested in these shows!) I am looking forward to tonight's episode of Sons of Anarchy more than most. Opie's funeral. Sigh. Cannot wait to see how the club proceeds! It's gonna be an epic season.

Let me apologize from the start for the crappy-quality photos...all I have is my iPhone camera right now. Loaded up the boy & went on a little shopping excursion this morning. Had to return a mini USB cable at Best Buy. Went to Target afterwards to look for some shirts. Tried on a few but didn't care for them. Would have browsed further, but that'll have to wait for a child-free day. I got Owen two cute divided plates. One features robots and the other is for V Day with two elephants and the saying "I love you a ton." Aww! Also got him an Elmo's World DVD. Got myself a Revlon Lip Butter in Cherry Tart as well as two silicone heart-shaped ice cube trays. I saw a craft on Pinterest that uses them to make crayons. Want to give that a try. I hope they're oven safe...I guess I'll find out... As for those lip butters, I'm addicted. I have four of them. I'm not much for lipstick because it's always too dry or too pigmented, but these are perfect

Reviving my poor little neglected corner of the Internet.

Or that's the plan, anyway. Several times a week, I think, 'Hey, I should blog when Owen naps.' But then something else comes along, or I'm just plain lazy, and it doesn't get done. And it's not like my life is super-exciting, even. Life as a SAHM is pretty monotonous. But still...I miss "writing" and documenting my day. So here's my little attempt to get it going again. I can not believe that June is almost over with. That's half the year, y'all! I've been seeing countdowns to Christmas already. Slow down, people. Let's not get carried away! My focus is on Owen's birthday, which is in about two weeks. July 15th. My kid will be three. Geez! Where did the time go?! His birthday party will be on the 6th. John Deere themed. With an inflatable water slide. Should be fun! He's such a fun, funny, smart little guy. And let's be honest, he drives me freakin' crazy, too. He's too smart...he knows how to push my buttons.

Weekend Recap

It's Sunday. My son slept over at his grandparents' house last night. My husband left for work early this morning. And I've been up since 5:30. On my morning to sleep in. Go figure. I guess I'm rested enough with about 7 straight hours of sleep. That never happens, since my 2 year-old still wakes up during the night. I did lounge in bed until 6, but then I gave up. Made some coffee, had some waffles, took the dog out, and played on FarmVille. A nice, quiet morning to myself. Now, I've got some laundry going and I'll be putting supper in the crock pot shortly. I'm making Sunday Chicken, a favorite recipe from my "101 Things to do with a Slow Cooker" cook book. Try it. You'll love it! We're having it with mashed potatoes & steamed veggies.
